March Lucky Mantra

Repeat after me…

Well hello March

Month of tantalisingly slightly-warmer-but-too-soon-for-shorts weather

I am ready for leaping, bouncing and general springy-ness.

I shall be lucky ALL MONTH… luckier than I’ve ever been.

I shall dance with serendipity and dine with good fortune.

I will also be fabulously lovely to my mum

and dad

and all the family.

But especially mum.

I will inject COLOUR into my style and walk with a swagger in some impossibly fashionable new shoes.

Yes, March you will be a mountain top of a month with me at the lucky summit, you will.

December Manifesto

So it’s the last manifesto of 2012, sad times. But, fear not, I am armed with my 2013 diary full of manifestos…and the random celebratory days. You can pick up your very own here.

Here’s the last manifesto…it’s clear this is a diary for a single person. I’d say a single girl, which I am. Enjoy:

Give home-made things as presents

Call up a friend every single day (just to say hello)

Go to every single party you are invited to no matter what

Dance like there’s no tomorrow

Search out mistletoe & hover around underneath it

Believe in Santa

Say yes

Eat, drink, be merry, be lovely,

And always try to look on the bright side.

November Manifesto

It’s the penultimate manifesto of the year. I have a new diary for next year with manifestos so I am going to be ok in 2013. But in the meantime, enjoy…this is an easy month!

Ooooh & Aaaahh at the fireworks

Eat a toffee apple (actually eat two)

See if you can touch your toes (if you can’t see if you can touch your knees)

Pull an all-nighter

Spice up your cooking (& everything else)

Be a bit out there

Throw caution to the wind

Make it the best month yet

& always try to look on the bright side.

October Manifesto

I don’t know where this year is going and I’m slightly concerned that there aer only two manifesto’s left and I don’t have a replacement diary. Will there be another one so good as this one??! Aaaaarrrrgh. Anyway, here goes, the October Manifesto:

Laugh til your tummy hurts

Float like a butterfly

Sting like a bee

Believe in the supernatural

Twist

Twist again

Invent something (and pitch to someone dragons-den-y)

Laugh in the face of fear (with the one exception of angry tigers. In this scenario, run)

Thank your lucky stars

See magic everywhere

Imagine what you would do if anything was possible and then do it

And always try to look on the bright side…

September Manifesto

So if anyone ever reads this regularly, then you’ll know that ‘the bright side’ the obvious design style that features on greeting cards and gifts, have a diary for 2012 - which I own. See here if you missed it: http://emmamcnic.tumblr.com/post/10276961849/2012-masterplan

Each month, I write out the manifesto because I find it amusing and caring is sharing, so again here goes:

Take long walks (avoid short cliffs)

S…t…r…e…t…c…h yourself (especially after long walks)

Don’t give up

Never give up

Ponder the universe

Enjoy puddles

Do some good deeds

Hug

File

Go for it

Gain a phobia (the weirder the better)

Learn impressive facts & at least one new party trick

Be the happy sort

And always try to look on the bright side of life.

This has got to be my favourite one yet. I ponder the universe frequently, I like hugs, I like filing and my party trick (ok it’s not new but newly discovered by my work colleagues) is that I can repeat the alphabet backwards.

Happy September!

August Manifesto

July was awesome (I went on holiday, it was great), and I achieved most of its manifesto. But now back to reality, and this one is again very do-able:

Be bang on time for everything (except for those really very few times when you are slightly early or late)

Invent cocktails & mix them* (*mix them real good)

Send postcards

Be all impromptu

Always hold the door open for people (even if they are that grey-area-slightly-uncomfortably-long walk away)

Don’t talk with your mouth full (but do talk with your mind open)

Get wet

Throw a picnic (& a frisbee)

& always try to look on the bright side.

I’ve just moved into my new flat and there are 3 cocktail shakers. WINNER!

July Manifesto

I don’t even know where June went, ridiculously busy time (drank far too much rum over Jubilee weekend, worked hard, did some flat hunting (am moving to Guildford at the end of July), went on a hen do, went to BBC Radio 1 Hackney thang, celebrated a friend’s birthday) and now I’m late with the July manifesto… and in less than 2 weeks I will be in Cyprus. Anyway, enough babble about that:

Strut your stuff (especially if it’s funky)

Press someone’s buttons

Make tea for everyone

Donate things

Feel the sun on your white bits (but don’t forget cream)

Look forward and never look back (unless you’re reversing)

Be bold

Be generous

Be as true to yourself as you can possibly be

And always try to look on the bright side.

I’m actually down for achieving 90%, the other 10% is circumstantial…we’ll see!

June Manifesto
So May went in a flash, and the manifesto too. And this time I’m including a pic.
Do something in your birthday suit (cooking and swimming recommended)
Plan an adventure
Breakfast like a king
Lunch like a queen
& Dine like a pauper* (*who has temporarily been made king or queen for the day)
Have unshakeable confidence in fact, repeat after me:
I am amazing
I am fabulous
I can be anything I want to be.
Wear lots of colours (banish black for a month)**
Laugh til your tummy hurts
& always try to look on the brightside.
**Failed already, black leggings on…

May Manifesto

Each month has a manifesto according to my diary - not sure I have really done that well in achieving each thing, but I like to share, here’s May:

Eat alfresco whenever it’s not raining (maybe even when it is)

Take up a new hobby & a new vice

Give up giving things up

Make your peace with the housework

Wear a nonchalant smile (sometimes wear only this, you old fox you)

Flip-flop it

Whistle whilst you do something (doesn’t have to be work)

In fact,

Play more

Play much much more

& always try to look on the bright side…

March Manifesto

Like February, there is a March Manifesto which comes from my diary - see http://emmamcnic.tumblr.com/post/10276961849/2012-masterplan but as today is ‘Leap, jump, bounce day’ I’m leaping in and updating my tumblr with the manifesto…

Bounce

Leap

Run

Skip

Splash

& generally feel spring in your soul.

Be nice to your mum (& everyone else)

Have the luck of the Irish (especially if you are actually Irish)

Get your hands in the soil (either randomly or, if you have the space, constructively to plant something & watch it grow)

Be impractical

Treat your body like a temple (a template that has biscuits & cake in it)

Blow away the cobwebs

Have some good intentions

& always try to look on the bright side…
